The two major celebrity weddings of 2020, Ranbir Kapoor - Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan - Natasha Dalal, have now been shifted to 2021 in the light of the current crisis.
Sources in the know confirm both the developments. Apparently, the Dhawan family has taken a conscious decision to move ahead instead of letting the wedding hover in the uncertainty of 2020.
“The entire Dhawan and Dalaal families have taken this decision collectively. The Varun - Natasha wedding will now be planned afresh in 2021,” says the source.
As for Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt with Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor's tragic demise, there is no question of a wedding in the family this year.
Apparently, both Ranbir and Alia are keen to make their relationship official. But, it now seems the wedding won’t happen until the second-half of 2021.
With the coronavirus showing no signs of abating anytime in the near future, it seems no star weddings are likely to occur in 2020.

In the last week of April, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan were generous enough to offer their personal office in Khar to the BMC for Coronavirus. The couple has been making generous donations ever since the Coronavirus outbreak and their office was being transformed into a quarantine facility by their NGO Meer Foundation.
Turns out, it was only yesterday that the BMC has finally started using the office as a facility for quarantine, over a month after it was offered. Gauri Khan had taken to her Instagram to share a video of the transformed facility.
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have also donated close to 25,000 PPE kits for the medical health experts.

While the actor to play the crazily talented singer Baiju in the love story Baiju Bawra is yet to be decided, Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is remaking the musical classic Baiju Bawra has zeroed in on his second-favourite actress (Aishawarya Rai Bachchan being the first) to play Baiju’s love interest Gauri.
The role was originally played by Meena Kumari in 1952’s Baiju Bawra directed by Vijay Bhatt. Sources say Bhansali feels Deepika comes closest to conveying the dignity and tragic grandeur of Meena Kumari.
“Of course, the role of Gauri would be very different now. But the essence of the character remains unchanged,” informs the source.
Also, it seems the heroine’s role in Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra would be significantly increased. Meena Kumari, in the original, didn’t have that much to do. The entire focus was on Bharat Bhushan as the commoner who usurps the legendary singer Tansen from Emperor Akbar’s durbar. Not so in Bhansali’s re-make.

Ajay Devgn was next to be seen in Maidaan and the shoot had already begun a while before the pandemic hit the world. A 16-acre wide set was built for the same, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, it wasn’t used as expected. So, now, the makers have decided to dismantle it since the monsoon season is on its way. Producer Boney Kapoor has confirmed the news regarding the same.
He says the set was built around a 16-acre plot in Mumbai and it is being taken down since we can expect rain on any day now. The rebuilding of this set will take close to two months, so if they begin it in September this year, the shoot can commence only in November. Luckily for the team, some indoor and outdoor portions have already been shot in Lucknow and Kolkata, so they won’t have to start from scratch.
Maidaan is being directed by Amit Sharma and it revolves around the late Abdul Sayed Rahim’s life who was considered as one of the finest football coaches. He also managed the Indian national football team from 1950 until his death in 1963.
